Today’s motivational space is an awkward space in our bedroom.  We have a part of the room that juts out and really doesn’t serve a purpose.  Truth be told, it has been a great spot to put our hamper for dirty clothes.  I am officially tired of looking at the monster created out of clothes and want a more functional space.  Here is a look in our space without the dirty clothes {you’re welcome}.

Now, what to do with it?  I am always up to something: painting, building, crafting, or getting side-tracked on social media {who doesn’t?}.  I have my amazing office in our home but my husband doesn’t have a defined work space to call his own.  Which brings me to this space in our bedroom.  It would be perfect for a desk area and the light is amazing in this room throughout the day.

I put together the perfect pieces for an office space in our bedroom.  It’s so dreamy and amazing in this spot, I just might actually have to make this inspiration board a reality.  I don’t think my husband would mind at all.

1.  Every work space needs a light, but with this desk taking up the entire space, there’s little room left for a floor lamp.  I love the idea of placing two lights on the wall instead.  These lights create such a statement piece!
.
2. A little greenery brings freshness to a space while also providing décor.  A Geometric Terrarium Pod is perfect for a man’s work area that incorporates a woman’s touch.
.
3.  Pineapples have my heart {see why here}.  I would love to have this large print of a pineapple that has a twist: it’s printed in shades of gray rather than pops of color.  Masculine right?
.
4.  Keeping with the floral theme, a print of a tropical leaf only seemed necessary and perfect!
.
5. I recently painted a globe and loved the outcome.  Now I want to try a small one!  Better yet, I could buy this modern globe that is ready to be displayed right away!
.
6. Books?  Did I really need to number this one?  No, but, take a look at this pin and see how you can create a book collection that actually houses chargers and miscellaneous items.
.
7.  I love the idea of using this paperweight as a bookend! The fact that it’s gold doesn’t hurt either.
.
8.  I find the look of industrial shelving to be so captivating for any space {I even used them in my bathroom}.  Here’s a tip: Do not buy them, make them!  They are super easy to make and here is a great tutorial to help you by Laura Acton.
.
9. The stained wood.  The hairpin legs.  Enough said.  The slender and simple design of this desk is the perfect fit for a small space like this one and is sure to make a statement.  If this space comes to life I’ll be making my own by following the tutorial by Upcycled Treasures and purchasing the hairpin legs from Hairpinlegsforless.com.
 .
10. West Elm always has the best chairs for a work space!  Not only does this chair look functional, but the design adds character to the room rather than taking away from the appeal.
 .
11.  When working from home, you always want to be extra comfortable and will often be working without shoes.  This geometric patterned rug provides comfort and helps define the work space that is located within the bedroom.
