Picking out paint colors for your home can be a daunting task. Especially after you’ve headed to your local paint store and you’re greeted with 50 different grays. So I’ve put together a collage of my favorite modern farmhouse paint colors by Sherwin-Williams. If I haven’t told you already, Sherwin-Williams is my go to paint brand every single time. I have my reasons but that’s a whole other blog post coming your way. Just know it’s that good! Plus, they’re having a H U G E sale this weekend, October 20th-23rd. I’m talking 40% off their paint! So, if you’re wanting the colors in each space of your home to flow seamlessly and beautifully together, then you’ve got to check out these colors to take advantage of their sale. I’ve broken them down into categories for you.

Whites

These two whites are my favorite! My upper kitchen cabinets, doors, and trim are all painted with the extra white. It’s a very bright and crisp white that’s refreshing for any space. If you don’t want a white that’s as bright, then Snowbound is your color. It’s also a great white to use on the trim of the exterior of your home.

Grays

You already know my favorite gray is Seattle, but it’s kind of like the secret gray of Sherwin Williams. You can read all about it and how to find it in my post, The Perfect Gray Paint for Any Home. But these other two grays are close favorites. Repose Gray seems to be a really popular one from what I’ve seen. These colors are great for a bedroom or main living space.

Beiges

I really consider these cream colors a greige because depending on the lighting, they can look slightly gray. Which is really the best of both worlds. Dover White was almost Oliver’s nursery color but we went with a cooler gray that’s almost white. You can see that color, Aria, in the post Modern Gender Neutral Nursery. But these are perfect for those that don’t want to commit to full on gray everywhere. They will brighten a space while still providing warmth.

Blues

Sea salt will be our master bathroom color. I’m obsessed with it! I’ve seen other people use it in their kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. It’s seriously like a breath of fresh air. But another reason why I included blues, is because I love to paint the ceiling of my front porch or back patio a very light blue. This is something I did in our first home and plan to do it in our new home on the back patio. You can check it out here in my original post, Patio Space Makeover, to see our blue ceiling and read about where this historical trend originated. Hinting Blue, featured here, would be a great color to use on a ceiling.

Deep Hues

When it comes to a modern farmhouse design, you’re going to see darker hues incorporated. These are the perfect shades to use on furniture, cabinets, and your front door. Currently, we’re using Outerspace for our bottom kitchen cabinets. It’s even more stunning in person! I’ve seen a few bloggers use Gauntlet as their exterior home color and Iron Ore is a great charcoal black for a front door.

I hope this helps you narrow down at least a color family you want to use in your home. And if you’re like me, you’ll be stocking up on a few paint colors with this fall sale currently happening this weekend at Sherwin Williams. Sea Salt is on my list with the possibility of Iron Ore being added for the front door. Let me know what colors you snag during the sale this weekend!
