Happy Wednesday! I thought today would be the perfect day to give you a little motivation to get through the rest of the week. Especially with a giveaway at the end of this post! The other day I shared with you how to bring color into your home. Here’s the thing. You were probably thinking that you needed to get your home organized and de-cluttered before introducing color with more home decor. I get it. That’s where today’s book review is your instant motivation to organize this weekend. I’m so excited to share a peek into the book, Organizing For Your Lifestyle: Adaptable Inspirations from Socks to Suitcases, with youIf you’re like me, you love to organize, donate, and toss items almost on a monthly basis. Either way, I invite you to read this book to help motivate you to get organized in your home, life, and travels.

I was a little overwhelmed at first when I started organizing my home. That feeling quickly disappeared as I started reading the book and noticed that Jane tells you what to organize, how to organize it, and why you should do it a certain way, all beautifully organized. At one point in Organizing For Your Lifestyle, Jane discusses ironing and folding clothing right away when placing in your closet. I don’t always have time for this but then it came full circle in the book. When talking about how to pack smart for trips, packing is instantly a breeze when everything is already folded, ironed, and organized within your closet. She even gives tips on how to avoid wrinkles. You’ll look at your closest in a completely different way after reading this book.

And can we chat for a minute about how she wrote a personal note? Love any handwritten note.

Who Should Read It

This book is for anyone looking to organize any part of their life! There’s guidance on de-cluttering, being a minimalist, organizing closets, bathrooms, kitchens, travel, home decor, and storage. With all those areas covered, with everything else in-between, this book is for just about anyone! Even if you just use parts of the book that relate to your life the most right now. It’s broken down into chapters with images and bullet notes. Jane even offers a few journal pages to jot down your goals and visions while also participating in a quiz to figure out your organizing style. You guessed it, the book itself is organized with the perfect layout to get you going!

The Takeaway

One can never be too organized and there are always areas that we can improve on. Organizing reduces stress and provides a peace of mind which then boosts your mood. So why not jump in? Organizing For Your Lifestyle is organized in digestible bites according to the areas of your home and life. Read it one section at a time and implement the tips that fit your schedule. It also doesn’t matter if you live in a tiny home, large mansion, live by yourself, or in a large family. This book is written in a way where everyone can relate to the tips and tricks of organizing.

Use the rest of this week to mentally get ready for this weekend so that you can de-clutter your home. Then take time here and there within the next few weeks to get organized. There isn’t a rush or a deadline. You can easily read this book in one day but it’s also a book you’ll come back to time and time again as a reference as you get organized.

Favorite Organizing Tip

Being a home blogger, I absolutely loved how Jane discussed organizing towels and linens in Chapter 3. You know those pesky fitted sheets that are a pain to fold? Jane gives you step-by-step pictures on how to fold them. Then there’s advice on how to organize, store, and always be guest ready with your towels and linens. We’re talking about putting a cute little ribbon around a set for your guests. Such a great idea, right? Besides that, I love how this book gives you tips on organizing different spaces if you move a lot, getting down to every detail of your home and life, and makes traveling a breeze. It also motivates you to get started right away with the use of this quote:

My attic is a complete mess! I just don’t know where to start – this book would help so much!

  2. Kristina says:

My closet needs help! We try to purge and donate as often as we grow out of anything, but with no hall closets or extra storage, our closet becomes a dumping ground all too often!

  3. I sincerely need to organize my garage! After buying my first place, my parents brought EVERYTHING they’ve stored for me since childhood! XD
