This post is sponsored by Rheem®; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Here we are at the beginning of a new year with new projects planned for our home. In January we make it a goal to replace or update something in our home that helps our home function a little better. This year we decided to focus on our water heater. You see, our Rheem® water heater was over 25 years old. We’re still amazed that it was still working properly, which is why we decided to go with a Rheem product once again. We knew we couldn’t go wrong with this brand!
It’s recommended to replace a water heater every 10 years so you know this was an exciting moment for us! We headed to our local Home Depot to check out Rheem water heaters that were available. We both agreed that the Rheem® Gladiator™ smart electric water heater was the perfect fit and investment for our home. I can’t wait to share why. And since it was before noon, we were able to schedule install for that same day.
Installed like any other electric water heater, installation was hassle free and took under an hour. We were immediately out with the old and in with the new. And oh my, did the new Gladiator smart electric water heater fit in perfectly with our home! Besides being overdue with installing a new water heater, the Rheem® Gladiator™ is giving us as homeowners the power to know, control, and protect our home through it’s advanced technologies. I can’t help but get excited about all the wireless features this smart electric water heater has to offer and not to mention better efficient energy usage. It has been two weeks since install and I’m thrilled to share the features and how they’ve drastically improved our home while giving us a peace of mind.
There’s something to say about products that make life a little easier, help to streamline our routine, and put us at ease. Those are some of the benefits we’ve already noticed about using our Gladiator smart electric water heater. Since it has built in wi-fi technology we can use the EcoNet App to receive notifications of leaks, to know if an element is starting to fail, the overall health, and track our energy usage. In other words, we have the power to know things before we encounter a larger problem and it puts us at ease as homeowners.
One of my favorite features within the app is being able to see how much hot water is left before taking a shower. There have been many times we’ve had guests over or getting ready as a family and one of us ends up taking a 2 minute shower due to not having any hot water. Now we can quickly check the app on our phones to see how much hot water is available. This has been such a fun feature to use that makes our routines run a little smoother and happier.
As a family, we’re moving in the direction of becoming a smart home. Knowing that we can have complete control with our Gladiator smart electric water heater from our smartphones, it made even more sense for us to go with this particular one. For example, we’re able to adjust the water temperature from our phones. One of the biggest perks with being able to do this, is adjusting the water to a lower temperature as we’re teaching our toddler his bath routine. One of my biggest fears is him turning on the water and it being too hot. This certainly gives us a peace of mind as parents knowing we can control the water temperature. And on the flip side, we may have guests that are used to having their water a little hotter and we’re able to easily accommodate them.
We also have the ability to put our Gladiator smart electric water heater in vacation or away mode. This is something we’ve never been able to do before and we were blown away with this feature. It makes so much sense because as we head out of town, we turn on vacation mode which in return lowers our energy usage. To be honest, it makes me want to plan a weekend getaway just so we can see the impact it has on our energy usage. We can do this right within the app where it shows us how many units of energy we’ve used weekly, monthly, and yearly.
Power to Protect
All of the features I’ve shared with you so far are amazing. We love them. But there is one feature that is very important to us because it gives us the power to protect our home. And at the end of the day, that’s what is most important. Imagine being out of town, away for the day, or simply being at home and your water heater starts to leak. Large or small, it’s a problem. But imagine a large leak that is starting to flood your garage or your home. If you’re home, you can try to shut off the water as quickly as possible but there may already be damage depending on when you realized it was leaking. Not home? We’re talking about a huge issue that you have no idea is even going on.
The Gladiator smart electric water heater has a LeakSense Detection where a leak is detected, large or small, within 15 seconds. From there the LeakGuard Protection kicks in and the LeakGuard auto water shut off valve automatically shuts off the water. And since it’s connected to wi-fi, I’ll get an alert on my phone notifying me of this problem. Talk about having that peace of mind. We don’t have to worry about our garage or home getting water damage because our Gladiator smart electric water heater will shut off to prevent damage to our home. This, my friends, makes this smart electric water heater a game changer.
This was our first time ever replacing one. Think about it, we were using a Rheem water heater that was 25 years old and they have come a long way since then. The day the Gladiator smart electric water heater was installed, I didn’t realize the value and impact it would bring to our home and our family. This is truly an amazing investment to make within your own home just by knowing the few features I shared with you today. Who knew I could be so excited about a new smart electric water heater! You can certainly check out Rheem Gladiator for more details on their website. If you’d like to see one in person, select Home Depots carry Rheem Gladiator where you can also purchase and schedule an install.
We also have a brand new community over on Facebook, House & Home, where we’ll be chatting, sharing, and helping one another when it comes to home decor and projects. Come join us! Check it out here.
