Hey guys! I’m excited to kick off this week by finally giving you a glimpse into our new home. I realized that we have lived in our home for a month now and I have yet to share the inside with you. These photos were all taken the day we were handed the keys and before we moved a single piece of furniture or box in. When searching for our next home, we knew it was going to be hard. We were picky shoppers and we didn’t have a lot to choose from in the market. Our previous home was the perfect first home but we knew we wanted to move out of the city to find more land, more room to grow, and a road that didn’t have 50 cars speeding down it every 30 minutes.
We viewed several homes as we tried to picture ourselves already living there. Ryan and I actually put an offer on another home. Thank goodness that one didn’t work out. When we walked into our now home, I knew. I knew the second we walked in. I seriously flew through the house like a kid on Christmas morning opening presents. Then there was the patio space that provided a view of the backyard that has room for our dream produce and flower gardens. I was already planning the design, renovations, and hid the other real estate cards on the counter. Okay, I didn’t, but I really wanted to. This house needs a lot work. It was a rental home for years and then sat empty for almost a year. Once we got home, Ryan and I had a two hour conversation, created a pro and con list, crunched numbers, and looked at the commute time to work. We then made our offer. The next day we received news our offer was accepted after going back and forth a few times. And now, here we are. Turning our second house into a home. Here’s a quick glimpse at the inside of our home the day we moved in.
What do you think? I already have so many ideas for this home. The journey is just beginning and I can’t wait to share it with all of you. Here’s a little honesty for you though: it’s going to take time. A lot of time! Majority of my days are spent enjoying play time with my little one while we knock out projects at night. I’ll be sure to include tips and tricks on how to flip a home with a little one. I hope you’re ready for the fun projects, styling, and decorating that will be occurring in the coming months.
Let’s keep in touch!
