Happy Monday! We’re kicking off another week and all I can think is that Christmas is less than two weeks away! Can you believe it? I’m soaking in all of the holiday festivities and of course, buying presents last minute. This year I’ve made it a goal to give a homemade gift with every present. I’m pretty excited about this (more on that later)!  As a lot of you already know, my little Oliver Finn is enjoying his first Christmas.  He’s actually 3 months old today!

As I started thinking about Oliver’s first Christmas, it made me think about all of my friends that just had or are about to have a little one during this holiday season. Oh, the joys (and struggles) of being a new mom! As my Christmas gift to my friend who’s a soon-to-be mom, I want to give her comfort and joy. Yes, go ahead and sing the song while you’re reading this! That’s why I headed to my local Babies R Us so that I can gift her a VTech VM341-216 Bear 2 Camera Full Color Video Monitor. I know the comfort this VTech Bear Video Monitor brings to a new mom as their little one is sleeping. How? I have one myself!

The struggle is real sometimes, especially after the first two weeks and being sleep deprived. The one thing that saved my peace of mind, is the VTech Bear Video Monitor. First off, it comes with a bear shaped camera to place in the nursery. I can’t get over how cute (and functional) it is!

Then, as an added bonus, there’s an additional standard camera for me to place in any other room in my home. This one is in my bedroom since that’s where my little one currently sleeps at night. I can easily adjust both cameras by tilting the camera angle up or down. You can also mount them to the wall! Cool, right?

Both cameras provide colored video and night vision on an amazing 4.3 inch LCD screen. Every giggle, whimper, and movement is caught on these cameras! And don’t get me started on the split screen. I was tickled pink when I saw this! Perfect for parents with more than one child or if a friend comes over to play and also needs a quick nap. Although this package comes with two cameras, you can add two more. That’s a 4-way screen view my friends! Don’t worry! All thanks to the digital transmission, the video is private and secure. Do you think that can be my excuse to my husband to get a bigger house to decorate?

We also all know the comfort that music and white noise brings to an infant. This monitor has built in lullabies and soothing sounds along with a two-way, talk back intercom for you to utilize so that you can comfort your child from afar. This has saved the day several times when it comes to nap time.

So, before I show you how I’m going to give this monitor to my friend, let me show you the DIY gift that will put the sparkle into mommyhood to go along with it.

DIY Glitter Tumbler

As an extra special surprise, I made a glitter tumbler for the mom-to-be. When relying on just a few hours of sleep, nursing or bottle feeding, and adjusting to a whole new normal, a new mom gets extremely dehydrated. It’s so important to stay hydrated in order to make it through the days and nights. This will motivate a new mom to drink more and to never misplace this tumbler due to all of the sparkle. I was constantly misplacing my water cup until I created one for myself.

Here’s how to make one for yourself or for a friend:

Supplies:

Photo Tumbler || Glitter and Sequins || Water

The How-To:

Step 1: Mix your glitter choices together. I went with a few different sizes and shapes.

Step 2: Unscrew the bottom of the tumbler and remove the paper. Add your glitter by sprinkling it in.

Step 3: Fill the compoartment all the way up with water. Screw the lid back on tightly and you’re ready to use your cup. Tip: Hand wash only!

Just imagine, an exhausted mom finally gets her little one down for a nap, turns on her VTech Bear Video Monitor to have a peace of mind while relaxing on the couch, and indulging in a nice cold cup of water in her brand new floating glitter tumbler. Life at that moment is simply perfect.

Add glitter on the bag that you’re placing the glitter tumbler in as a fun preview of what’s inside. I simply applied glue to a snowflake stamp, stamped the bag, and applied the glitter. I had instant glittery snowflakes! Now I want to stamp everything.
