Styling a home can often be overwhelming, intimidating, and simply confusing as to what to place and where. It is also thrilling, a creative outlet, and a way to turn a house into a home. There are times when I have come to a stopping point because I can’t decide what to place in an empty corner, how to use extra space on a wall, or I have too many options to make a final decision. To motivate myself and to hopefully give you inspiration, I am excited to share with you a new column on WTG called “Decor Daydreams”.
I will be taking an image from my home {like the one above} and inserting images of furniture and decor I find online that I feel would be perfect for the space. It will give me motivation to start decorating, styling, and enjoying the newly designed part of our home. At the very least it will leave me daydreaming about the decor and give you inspiration and a theme to finish or re-decorate a part of your home. Sounds like a win-win situation to me!
I am now wondering how I have left this space empty for so long. Take a look below on how I would like to style this unique space in our living room.
1. I love the clean design of this mid-century inspired chair by West Elm and the character it would bring to the space! It looks so comfy yet stylish all at the same time. It will also provide more seating in our living room which you can’t have too much of.
2. There isn’t much that we could place in this corner due to the dimensions, but this console table that I found on Joss and Main would fit perfectly! By placing a table here we will also be able to use it for additional lighting and storage.
3. Gah! I love a great lamp! If you read my About section, you will also know that I am a sucker for gold. This Pottery Barn golden lamp will offer a soft light in this corner for evenings spent reading or enjoying company. The honeycomb facets also match the design of my dining room wall!
4. What a great accent piece for a table top! This modern geometric piece that you can find at World Market helps tie in the gold throughout the room and offers eye-appealing decor for the corner of the living room.
5. I know I’m not the only fan, but if you haven’t heard of Magnolia Market you are missing out! It is a shop that is linked to the show “Fixer Upper” on HGTV. Joanna’s farmhouse inspired home decor will have you coming back daily. I would love to have the regal leaf bunch for my home that you see pictured above!
6. I can’t get enough of mirrors. They brighten and expand a space while providing home decor. To help tie in the wood of the console table, this wooden circular mirror found on Wayfair adds dimension to the space.
|| I hope you enjoyed seeing how I would style this corner in my home just as much as I loved creating it! I would love to see what you would do in a space like this! Send me your ideas! You can find me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!
