I love the design and creative process that takes place when decorating our home and can’t wait to share it with all of you throughout Within the Grove. I have never had an agenda or any idea as to what I will be doing within a blank space of our home until that creative moment strikes.
Let me introduce you to an area where my creativeness has blossomed : our dining room. This happens to be one of my favorite spaces within our home. This area started as a blank canvas when we bought our home last June.
Since then it has transformed into the unique space where we often enjoy the company of others surrounded by delicious meals.
I am sure you can guess my favorite part of the dining room: the bold stenciled wall. I can’t express enough how much I love it! I often get asked why I didn’t just do wallpaper. I love the creative process it took to paint this wall and using wallpaper would have been to quick and simple with what I was looking for.
With a stencil I bought from Cute Stencils, a gallon a paint, a mini paint roller, and my sanity this wall was created. From start to finish it was 18 hours worth of work. Was it worth it? You tell me. I certainly think so!
This quirky moose head was given to me by my mother. She stumbled upon it at a local Homegoods and immediately thought of me. I wonder why? It also goes great with the buffet I found at Goodwill. Yes, a steal of a deal!
I am proud the most of our dining room farmhouse table and bench. It was the first piece added to our dining room. This farmhouse table is one of a kind. Both pieces were handcrafted by my very talented husband. I leave the building to him and he leaves the painting and staining to me. We make quite the duo when focused.
Believe it or not it took me about 6 months to finally settle on a rug and the type of chairs to accompany our farmhouse table. I had a vision one day and had to find the perfect pieces! The wicker chairs and jute rug provide a natural and clean atmosphere while the two teal chairs provide a pop of color bringing it all together.
I could go on and on about our gem of a dining room. Get in touch with me if you want more information on a “how to” or maybe you see something in the pictures that you want more information on. Let’s chat and become friends!
I am thrilled you joined me on day one of this wonderful journey of Within the Grove!
