Once a kindergarten teacher, now your go-to guide for all things DIY. My passion for teaching didn't stop when I left the classroom - I merely switched from ABCs to DIYs. I've learned a lot from transforming my own home from scratch, and now I'm here to pass on that knowledge to you.
One of my favorite gifts to give loved ones, friends, and neighbors is a gift that I create myself or by supporting a small business. I’m the kind of person that walks around stores almost never buying anything because I tell myself I can attempt to make it versus paying the high price. Can I make it cheaper than what I can buy it for? Most of the time, but not always. It’s the joy I find in creating things, the process that gives me a challenge, and the pat on the back feeling when the project is finally completed as to why I try to create items I want for my home or to give to others. This leads me to these delicious smelling soy lemon candles!
I almost always have a candle burning in my home and I’ve often wondered how hard it is to make one myself. Answer: not hard at all! Honestly, the hardest part when creating these lemon scented candles was making sure the labels were placed correctly.
So there I was this past Saturday morning making soy lemon candles for my neighbors as a little holiday cheer to go along with their Christmas card. Plus, I finally got to use my Young Living Essential Oil in the scent of lemon. I received this scrumptious smelling essential oil from Michael and Sydney of Casa De Livingston. I can’t wait to further explore their blog about other ways I can use my essential oils!
To go along with this year’s gift to the neighbors, I’ve designed a set of labels to place on the lid of the candles. They are free for you to instantly download and print! By clicking the image of the label below, it will lead you to Onlinelabels.com where you can find my tutorial and download my free soy lemon candle design. Enjoy my friends and let me know how your candles turn out!
