Pregnancy Announcement using a Seed Packet

Can you believe it!?  We’re pregnant!!  We can finally celebrate with all of you and our loved ones.  Talk about a lifestyle post!  This has to be one of the most amazing and emotional blog posts to date.  For 12 weeks we kept this big (yet little) secret to ourselves.  It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.  If you know me personally, you know I don’t stop chatting away!

We have prayed and dreamed of this moment to share with all of you.  What it would feel like. . the emotions we would encounter. . the thrill of telling our family and friends. . how to announce our pregnancy . . visualizing a family of three . . and imagining the parents we are about to become.

We're pregnant!

Here’s where my emotions get even more real and raw.  The journey to get here hasn’t been easy.  When we got married, May 5, 2012, we decided the first 3 years of our marriage would be for us to travel, enjoy married life, to find our ideal home {3 states later}, and to simply enjoy each other.  3 years quickly arrived last May and by June 2015 we were found speechless on a bright Sunday morning and all we could do was smile at each other.  We finally said, “This is really happening!”  We were pregnant!  Several weeks later we experienced a miscarriage.  One day everything was full of baby dreams and the next day we were left in tears, heartbreak, and had so many questions as to why.  We were devastated.

The next several months were focused on getting me healthy again and working through our emotions together. My friends, I hit the jackpot of all jackpots with my husband, Ryan.  We had one of our darkest moments since we have been together, yet he was my continuous sunshine.

Pregnancy announcement idea

Fast forward to January 2016 when tears entered our eyes again as we embraced one another with the news of being pregnant again.  We felt so blessed but after experiencing a miscarriage we didn’t fully celebrate until our 8th week appointment, we started to breathe by our 10 week appointment, and at our 11 week appointment 2 weeks ago all the feels came rushing through us.  We’re PREGNANT!

We excitedly told our families, our closest friends and started planning our pregnancy announcement.  As a Mama-to-be, this is a moment I have always looked forward to!  We decided on our seed packet theme very quickly.  We are leading up to our 2nd year owning our home and love working in our home and just as much in our yard.  We had a successful garden last spring and decided to plant another one this year. Hello ah ha moment!  We immediately started designing our own custom seed packet to announce our pregnancy — especially since I will be “growing” this spring and summer.

Seed packet pregnancy announcement

I’ve been truly blessed with an amazing pregnancy!  Only 2 or 3 moments of morning sickness at the very beginning and hello full, thick hair! We continue to pray daily for a great and healthy pregnancy.

Here are some of the details to questions that we have been getting a lot lately

1. Boy or girl? We aren’t going to find out the gender!  What an amazing surprise it will be.
2. Have you started on the nursery?  Not yet, but soon!  I promise it will be shared on the blog and my progress with the room throughout the coming months.  It just might become a new column. Gender neutral ought to be fun!
3. Any cravings?  Oddly no! It’s more of what I can’t stand to eat anymore.  Cheese? Yuck. Mexican food? Yuck and goodbye taco Tuesday.

We are so thankful and blessed for this bundle of joy, our miracle.  Thank you all for your love, support, and reading about our journey so far.  Baby Rishel is already so loved and doesn’t even know it!

Surprise! We're pregnant!
