If you don’t know already, I have a love affair with anything made locally, purchased from a small business, or if it revolves around paper products. I planned my entire wedding using paper and pencil. There’s something special, authentic, and unique about receiving snail mail, planning an event, and giving someone a gift that makes them feel overly loved.
A few weekends ago I had the pleasure to meet two lovely ladies, Megan and Cedar, at the local Blog Fete. They are twin sisters with a love for paper, one-of-a-kind celebrations, unique and thoughtful gift giving, and bringing people together for any and every occasion. They have brought their passion to life by recently opening their shop, Paper Goat Post, in the ever so charming Ivanhoe Village of Orlando, Florida.
I attended their Grand Opening last weekend as the confetti was flying. I knew that I would instantly have a new favorite shop in town, but didn’t expect the head of heels feeling I experienced when entering their shop for the first time. I’m seriously going to have to talk myself out of going there every weekend. . or maybe not!
I didn’t know which way to look and had to stop myself from buying everything that I loved. I knew that I had to leave a few items out of my shopping bag so that I would have an excuse to come back.
I sipped a whiskey cocktail with a scrumptious whiskey infused apricot by Michael J. Ring. He lit up the room with his knowledge and laughter while sporting an amazing bow tie. I also enjoyed a treat {or two} from P is for Pie and Blue Bird Bake Shop as I browsed the gorgeous PGP. Megan and Cedar love to support other local businesses and this was just one of their many ways of doing just that!
Paper Goat Post is so much more than your typical stationary retail store. Megan and Cedar offer The Studio where they work with you one-on-one to plan and design your next big event. This may be a party you are throwing for your significant other and your wedding day that is quickly arriving. Just take a look at the mid-century, yet very chic space, to get ideas flowing and visions to come to life where they sit down to plan with you:
PGP also provides The Bar where flawless gift wrap and balloon making will get you party ready in minutes! Jordan Emmitt recently took advantage of creating your own balloon with flair to create the perfect photo shoot!
And as if it couldn’t get any better, Megan and Cedar thought of the brilliant idea to offer the Postal Service. I love to send snail mail for special occasions, but let’s face it, I need help! I often forget to place the card in the mail, I’m shopping for the ‘best card ever’ the day of, or have found I don’t even have the time to look. The idea behind the Postal Service is that you will never miss a celebration again due to PGP being your card concierges and mailing your snail mail for you. All you have to do is sign up, swing by to sign your cards, schedule the delivery of the snail mail, and consider it sealed and delivered!
Did you really think the confetti throwing and celebrating was over? Just hold on just a minute! I haven’t even mentioned the Workshop Wednesdays PGP will be hosting. Picture the perfect ladies night out or wanting to meet new friends as you learn a new creative skill. I will be attending the Pumpkalligraphy Workshop by Flax and Wool Designs and a Watercolor Workshop by Giddy Paperie just in the month of October. It’s an amazing opportunity to craft, meet others, and learn all at the same time! These lovely ladies have truly thought of everything! I was also thrilled when I was able to purchase a print by Flax and Wool Designs as Jessa was dropping off her prints for the first time in a retail store.
I should really stop spilling all of the amazing secrets of this gem of a store in Ivanhoe Village and let you go check it out yourself! Paper Goat Post is officially open and they lovely ladies can’t wait to welcome you to their shop that has hours of passion poured into it! The lovely duo, Megan and Cedar, will have you coming back time and time again.
