Supplies to create a honeycomb bag.

With the holidays behind us, it’s time to start thinking about 2017. It’s literally right around the corner. I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want in 2017 is starting it with a cold. I’d rather be getting in the best health that I can. Lets face it, summer will be here before we know it! To help motivate myself and my closest friends, I’ve decided to create an adorable honeycomb tote bag full of honey inspired goodies. Get all the details in my post today on how to create not only your own honeycomb tote bag, but my secret ingredient to my energy balls and staying well during the winter months.

So do I have your full attention about my secret ingredient? I’m ready to spill all the details! This bag is inspired by my all time favorite honey, Don Victor® Honey, found at Walmart in the Hispanic Aisle. Super easy to find and here’s a photo to help!

You’re probably wondering, why honey? It’s an all natural source of energy. Perfect for those trying to get well and/or stay healthy. For working muscles (especially when working out), it provides a rich source of carbohydrates to fuel the energy you need. This fuel source will definitely keep you going. That’s why Don Victor® Honey is the perfect ingredient for my honey, chocolate, and peanut butter energy balls that are a part of my honeycomb bag.

The best part about using Don Victor® Honey in this recipe is using the natural honeycomb in the jar. Yes, an edible honeycomb! I love to use pieces of it mixed in with the honey for this recipe. Pure sweet deliciousness.

Here’s how to make your own energy balls.

When you’re done, place the energy balls in a cute jar with a label on top and place in the honeycomb bag. You can download the label here and tape it to the top of the lid.

Don’t have time to make some of your own when you’re sick? That’s okay! Simply use this honey as a natural cough suppressant when feeling down. Plus, honey never goes bad so it will always come in handy. You need to make sure to store it at room temperature though. On your kitchen counter or pantry shelf would be perfect for this. If you’re one to put honey in the refrigerator, know that it speeds up the honey’s crystallization. Not a bad thing at all when it comes to age, quality, impurity, or spoilage. Just simply place the honey jar in warm water and stir until the crystals dissolve before using it.

For fun, here are some other ways that you can use the amazing honeycomb in the jar of Don Victor® Honey. As a fair warning though, you might have breakfast for dinner after reading these!

While at Walmart, I went ahead and grabbed 2 jars of Don Victor® Honey.  One for my energy balls and the other one to place in the honeycomb bag.  Don Victor® Honey is such a premium quality honey at an affordable price, that it works perfect for this bag! But before placing in the bag, I wrapped a few of my favorite hair ties around the honey jar with a cute tag that reads “The buzz on the street is that it’s a new year and a new you!”.  You can also download this tag by clicking here. Remember, we’re trying to stay well with the upcoming new year so hair ties are perfect for any workout session.

DIY Honeycomb Tote Bag

Now for the tutorial on how to create your own honeycomb tote bag to place all of your honey inspired items in. It’s seriously the cutest little thing ever!

Supplies:

Canvas Tote Bag || 4 Different Paint Colors || Sponge || Scissors || Marker || Honeycomb Stencil || Paintbrushes or Plates || Scrap Piece of Paper

The How-To:

Step 1: Print and cut out this honeycomb stencil.

Step 2: Using the stencil, trace 4 hexagons on the sponge using a marker.

Step 3: Carefully cut out each hexagon.

Step 4: Using your paintbrush, apply paint on one of the hexagons. You can also pour the paint on a plate and dip your hexagon sponge in the paint. Make sure it is fully covered.

Step 5: Place a scrap piece of paper in the canvas tote bag so the paint doesn’t leak through. Firmly press the paint covered hexagon stamp on front of the bag.

Step 6: Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you reach your desired pattern. Use a different hexagon stamp for each color.

Step 7: Once you are done with your pattern, allow your canvas tote bag to dry and remove the scrap piece of paper.

You’re wellness bag is now complete! Place your jar of Don Victor® Honey wrapped with hair ties and your delicious honey, chocolate, and peanut butter energy balls in the honeycomb bag to gift to your besties. What a great way to to start off the New Year by giving well wishes!

I still can’t believe the energy, nutrition, and overall deliciousness honey provides. How would you use Don Victor® Honey to stay healthy? I’m always searching for a new recipe to incorporate honey. Until then, check out more ways on how you can use Don Victor® Honey in the New Year:

We got the call that the pool build is starting! W We got the call that the pool build is starting! Which had me scrambling to dig up all the plants that were in the way in an effort to save them. Literally down to the last second before the crew showed up. Exciting day but you know what’s even more exciting? Knowing the next crew will officially be breaking ground with the excavation phase of the build.
This time of year is full of organizing and purgin This time of year is full of organizing and purging to bring spaces back to life. But sometimes all a space needs to feel refreshed is, well, a refresh and a little attention. Your number one requested space was the living room. So I gave mine a refresh with some unique and gorgeous finds from @homesense_us . I found a few fun pots for my houseplants, a gorgeous magnifying glass, and a few other items for our coffee table and couch.

I never know what I’m going to find when I walk into Homesense since it’s always rotating with amazing finds. But I do know I’ll walk out with a few new favorites for my home at affordable prices. If you haven’t yet, I urge you to check and see if you have a Homesense near you! #DiscoverHomesense #HomesensePartner

We can be one of our biggest cheerleaders, but together we’re going to do big things. Go ahead and write down a big, small and a few in-between projects you want to get done this year in your home. Kicking it off with intention and that reminder that we can do this. Ready to get started?! Let me know in the comments the first project you want to tackle!
We finally got the Christmas/winter edition of the We finally got the Christmas/winter edition of the window projection up and running! It was a hit for Halloween and just as fun for this time of year as well. I built frames wrapped with a plastic drop cloth but you can also secure the drop cloth over the windows using command strips. The videos are from @atmosfx and we use a mini projector to play them on the screen. Place a Bluetooth speaker outside and you’re in business! Such a fun addition this time of year for the exterior of your home.
It’s the last little bit of the demo we needed t It’s the last little bit of the demo we needed to do in order to give the green light for the pool to start. And 2,456 pavers later, it’s done! This was exhausting but worth the money we saved doing it ourselves. And why remove them? We’re using a different stone around the pool and we want it to be cohesive up to the house. Don’t worry, someone got one heck of a deal on these pavers, we made a little money, and someone else got them out of our driveway. I’d say that’s a win-win. Stayed tuned for the entire pool process as we enter 2023. It’s going to be pretty exciting to watch!
Our patio space has served us so well over the yea Our patio space has served us so well over the years and now it’s time for a change because we’re getting a POOL!! Sharing this with you makes it even more real because just a year ago I would have told you it isn’t in the cards for us. We’ll be breaking ground soon but first we have to remove the screen enclosure. Spoiler: we won’t be putting one back up around the pool. It has already made the biggest difference visually and SO much natural light pours into our home now with it gone. It’s going to be so exciting seeing this all unfold so stay tuned! Up next: removing the pavers.
This holiday season we were able to travel to my h This holiday season we were able to travel to my hometown for the first time in awhile. We were greeted by the most beautiful sunset on the beach. Fast forward to this week as I headed to @homesense_us for some holiday shopping, and I ended up finding a few pieces for our home that remind me of that core memory on the beach. The beautiful wicker bench caught my eye first followed by the comforter and toss pillows. Everything at amazing price points while not sacrificing style and quality. #HomesensePartner

Mixing a thrill of a find with a core memory, I guarantee you'll fall in love with your home even more as you go to decorate. Decorating your home isn't grasping on to the newest trend or what you think others would do. It's what YOU want to do. And sometimes that's based on an emotional connection. Oh, the stories your spaces will be able to tell as you decorate each one. Start with seeing if there’s a @homesense_us near you! #DiscoverHomesense #HomesenseSarasota
