There’s something about finding a piece of furniture tucked away in the corner of a thrift store with a price that makes you look twice. If you follow me over onInstagram, then you know every Wednesday I go thrift shopping. More often than not, I go for the thrill and see what I can find. There are those few times where I’m trying to find something specific. I love to see what inspires me, catches my eye, and if I can find it at a great price. You can read more about that in my post, How to Find Thrift Stores in your Area.

Furniture we thrifted and flipped for our home.

There are a few pieces of furniture that I spotted and quickly bought. And what I really mean when I say quickly, is that I stuck my own sticky note on it and wrote “sold” as I headed to the front to pay. That’s when you know you’ve found a great piece at an even better price. So, here are my favorite pieces of furniture that have made their way into our home. I’m including the price we paid, where I found them, a before and after if it has been flipped, and why it came home with us. Enjoy!

Patio table

Price: $15
Where we found it: C & D Second Chance
Flipped or Didn’t Flip: Didn’t flip
Why it came home with us:
This patio table was buried under two other tables at the end of an aisle. I would have missed it if it wasn’t for Oliver’s stroller getting stuck on the table leg. It resembles a teak design with table legs that are gorgeous. I saw the $15 price tag and that’s when I stuck the sticky note with sold written on the corner of the table. Too many eyes were all of a sudden on it after I bumped into it. We needed a table for our patio and this was the perfect fit!

Patio table and chairs

Price: $20
Where we found it: Habitat for Humanity
Flipped or Didn’t Flip: Didn’t flip
Why it came home with us:
This teak patio set was put on display outside of the Habitat for Humanity. I think the only reason why it was still there was because it only had three chairs. Which also probably explains the price. I was okay with three chairs since it was going on the little patio area connected to my office. All four chairs would have been too much for the space. To this day, it’s still the perfect set and I’m so glad it came home with us!

Breakfast nook table

Price: $40
Where we found it: Facebook Marketplace
Flipped or Didn’t Flip: Flipped
Why it came home with us:
As we were moving out of our 1st home, we decided to sell 75% of our furniture. It was a smart idea at the time with a 7 month old (we didn’t have to move it) but now we’re having to slowly replace a lot. Since we have a breakfast nook area, I was determined to find a round table to go in this space. I found this one on Facebook Marketplace which resulted in picking it up at a storage unit filled to the ceiling with furniture. A little white paint completely transformed this piece.

Secretary Desk

Price: $75
Where we found it: Thrift shop in Downtown Orlando
Flipped or Didn’t Flip: Flipped
Why it came home with us:
I searched for months trying to find a secretary for our home. I saw one that had been flipped on a blog I follow and I couldn’t get it out of my mind. Most that I found were $200+. When I found this one for $75 I didn’t hesitate to bring it home with me. Interesting fact: I finished painting the secretary the same night I went into labor. Living on the wild side.

Mid-Century Dresser

Price: $50
Where we found it: Yard Sale
Flipped or Didn’t Flip: Flipped
Why it came home with us:
As we started designing and planning Oliver’s nursery, we knew we wanted a simple dresser with clean lines. I kept going thinking of mid-century dressers even though this style isn’t found anywhere else in our home. I thought it was a fun spin for the nursery. We snagged this one at a yard sale after searching for a few weeks.

Bedside table

Price: $5
Where we found it: Goodwill
Flipped or Didn’t Flip: Flipped
Why it came home with us:
First, can we chat about how this was only $5!? This table originally came home with me for our baby shower/cookout. We needed a small table to place a few items on. It was spray painted gold but since then I’ve spray painted it a linen white for our guest bedroom. The perfect fit and I love the character it brings to the space.
