This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hirsh Industries. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It’s finally time to reveal Ryan’s office space we’ve been working on this month and we’re hoping you love it just as much as we do! With the fresh start to a new year, we knew this was the first project we wanted to tackle in our home. Especially since Ryan often hears, ” Hey, can you help me with . . . ” on a daily basis with home projects.  Thanks to Hirsh Industries, this office space came to life! But before we get too far, let’s take a quick step back to look at where we started.

When we first moved into our home, we added the faux brick to the wall with plans to paint it as part of my office area – that was a year ago. We decided to finally do something about it! You can see the design board here for the space.

The Reveal

So, here we are and we couldn’t be more thrilled! We wanted to create an office space that was functional, had plenty of storage and a space Ryan would truly want to go and work in. We started by transforming the faux brick wall to mimic German smear. A decision I’m happy we went with versus just white washing the brick.

We then moved on to the desk we built out of plywood. We decided on the design of the desk because of the Office Dimensions Personal Storage Cabinets you see underneath! These were such an important part of the office space because they provide storage, organization and functionality. All while becoming part of the overall decor.

Ryan is also one who doesn’t like a cluttered desk (I’m lucky I was able to place a plant on it). With these Personal Storage Cabinets, he can tuck away his books, office supplies and anything else he may need with storage space to spare. All within reach without ever having to get up from the office chair. The industrial feel they tie into the space was the exact look we were hoping for!

I’m also a huge fan of the locking system. Each Office Dimensions Personal Storage Cabinet comes with a key to lock the contents. This is very important to us with a toddler running around and not wanting him to have access to the small office supplies and important documents we’re storing inside. This 3-shelf unit, along with a 4-shelf unit, are both available through Amazon!

Let’s keep going! The desk beautifully frames the cabinets which in return creates a stunning wooden waterfall feature. You’re almost surprised when you walk around the corner and realize there’s hidden storage underneath the desk because the two go so well together.

Other elements we added to the space were the decor items. A map of our hometown was added to the brick wall in hopes they would compliment each other to create a simple, yet bold statement. Not to mention, maps have always been a favorite of Ryan’s.

I also added an engineering print (Ryan’s a civil engineer when he’s not building), a houseplant and a lamp to warm up the space. Then the finishing touch was the rug to help pull the whole design together. I have a feeling this is an office space he’s truly going to enjoy. Every piece was chosen, built and created with him in mind.

I feel like we’re already off to a great start this year with this organized work space that will be getting a lot of use from both Ryan and I. Not to mention, we now have the extra storage space to conceal those items we don’t necessarily want out (extra supplies, bills, etc.).

This was such a fun home project to complete! In the coming weeks I’ll have the tutorials headed your way on the the desk, faux brick wall, and the wooden hanging frame. Until then, I’d love to know how you would use these Office Dimensions Personal Storage Cabinets in your home. Would you pick the office, another part of the home or even the garage to use these?
