This weekend we’re kicking off our dining room project that has been a long time coming. At this point in time, we’ve been in our home for a little over two years and our dining room has been sitting empty this entire time. Well, except for those times we use it as overflow from other projects in our home. Luckily we have the breakfast nook that we use daily which is this space:

I chat all the time through the blog and over on Instagram how we are renovating and decorating our home on a budget. Sometimes this means a room sits empty until it’s the right time to tackle it. That time is now! And our goal is to have it finished before Thanksgiving so that we can properly fit our family around a table as we enjoy our holiday dinner.

Here’s how the dining room currently looks:

I can’t tell you how excited I am that we’re starting with a blank slate. We actually want to try a more modern design with our dining room and mix in a few colors we haven’t tried anywhere else in our home. Here’s the thing, every other space has a piece of furniture or decor from our previous home. Which all of it is great but our style has changed so much since moving into this home two years ago. Here’s what we’re planning for the space:

1. Faux Olive Tree
2. Paint color: Alabaster by Sherwin-Williams
3. Black Accent Cabinet
4. Artwork 55″ x 79″
5. Loloi Rug 8 x 10
6. Dining Table
7. Dining Chairs
8. Pendant Light
9. Velvet Curtains
10. Flooring
11. Propagation Tubes

Of course, as we dive all in, some things may change. But I am SO excited about this project and to see our dining room finally come to life. We have a deadline of a few days before Thanksgiving to get this done! Make sure to tune in to Instagram as we show you the behind the scenes of the process and check back here regularly for how-to and reveal posts.
