We’re beyond excited to be a part of the One Room Challenge as guest participants. This has been on our home bucket list for a few years now and finally the timing was right for us to participate. Over the next six weeks we’ll be giving our outdated guest bathroom the attention that it deserves. . . finally. We’re taking it down to the studs and creating an entirely new space. We hope you enjoy watching the process just as much as we enjoy creating a new space.
Well, my friends. Here were are at week 5. Say what!? I can barely believe it myself. When I first started this challenge I just knew 6 weeks would be enough time to flip an entire bathroom. I figured 6 weeks is a month and a half. Plenty of time. I changed my mind. Oh, it can and will be done but not without burning the midnight oil.
Here’s where we are at this current moment: demo was completed and all of the tile has been installed. And oh my, is it beyond what I imagined it to be!
But do not fear, everything else should be smooth sailing from here. I spent the past couple of nights finishing up the grout and cleaning the tiles as Ryan works away in the garage building our vanity.
Wait, what??
That’s right! Not only are we flipping a bathroom in 6 weeks but we also decided to build our own vanity to stay within budget. With just a week left, can this entire bathroom be pulled together? Although you can see some changes in this space finally, you’ll see the biggest transformation take place next week with the big reveal.
As for today I’m finally painting the bathroom with these gorgeous colors from Clare Paint. I was beyond thrilled when they reached out asking if I’d like to try some of their colors for the bathroom renovation. You guys know how I feel about paint. . . obsessed with it! We went with Whipped and Irony.
If you follow me over on Instagram then you’ve probably seen me mention them a few times on IG stories. It’s a new paint company created by the oh so talented interior designer, Nicole Gibbons. With only 55 curated timeless colors that are delivered to your front door, it’s an experience like no other. I’ll be sharing more about this paint company soon as I share my experience from receiving the samples to painting my walls.
After the painting is done it’s basically anything and everything that’s not paint and tile related. This is the thing, I’ve always worked well under pressure and it seems to add to the thrill of the adventure. Although Ryan would disagree since he is 100% the opposite of a night owl. As for me, give me a great audio book or podcast to listen to, and I’ll work the night away to get a few projects completed.
Make sure to check back next week for the big reveal. This whole process has been exciting yet a roller coaster of emotions. This is the first time I’ve ever designed a space and completely flipped every square inch. As projects are completed I get very excited but then equal parts nervous wondering if it will all truly come together in the end. I’ll guess you’ll have to find out next Thursday!
Don’t forget to follow along over on the One Room Challenge blog to see the Featured Designers and Guest Participants. There are SO many amazing rooms that are being designed and brought to life!
Let’s keep in touch!
