Can a donut loving gal get any luckier?  Today is National Donut Day and it also happens to be my birthday! This sweet little fact of free donuts all over the place makes starting my last year in my 20’s a little sweeter.  With that said, I’m getting the celebration started a little early this morning with my own twist on donuts.  I recently created a donut cake but a new design with summertime flair was calling my name.  Let me introduce to you pineapple donuts!  Nope, they don’t taste like pineapples.  Instead they look like the cutest little pineapple donuts you’ve ever seen!

Although I won’t be throwing a themed pineapple party, these oh so fresh pineapple donuts would be the perfect addition to any summer party, cookout, birthday party, or a just because.  You may think, “Who has time for that?”  You do!  They take no more than 10 minutes to make.  Even better, I have all the details including a free printable in today’s post.  Get ready, they’re adorable when completed but if you’re like me they won’t last too long.

The how-to:

Delicious Donuts || Green Cardstock Paper || Scissors || Pencil || Chocolate Cookie Icing || Pineapple Leaf Stencil by WTG

Step 1: Download the free Pineapple Leaf Stencil and cut out the pineapple leaf {click on the image below}.

Step 2: Trace and cut out however many pineapple leaves that you’ll need.  You only need 1 per donut.

Step 3: Using the chocolate cookie icing, write the letter v on top of your donuts several times.  I applied mine in a random pattern.

Step 4: Gently press the pineapple leaf into the top of each donut.  Tip: You may need to take a knife to cut a slit into the top of the donut to nicely insert the pineapple leaf.
